Macao Bridge Officially Open to Traffic

On October 1st, the highly anticipated Macao Bridge (formerly known as the Fourth Bridge Linking Macau and Taipa) inauguration ceremony was grandly held on the banks of the Haojiang River, marking the completion and operation of the fourth cross-sea bridge connecting Macau and Taipa, built with the participation of CRHIC. Macao Bridge is the first two-way eight-lane cross-sea bridge in Macau.The Macao Bridge is located on the east of the Macao Friendship Bridge, spanning the Outer Harbor Route and the Macao Waterway. It connects Macao’s coastal, border and aviation ports, serving as a key node in constructing Macao’s urban transportation system. The main line of the bridge extends for 3.085 kilometers, with the cross-sea section being approximately 2.86 kilometers long and the main bridge being 1,370 meters long. Five TBMs Exported to Italy Rolled Off Collectively

On August 5th, five “explosion-proof” earth pressure balance TBMs for export projects in Italy passed client’s acceptance and collectively rolled off the production line at the manufacturing base of China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG). The machines will be shipped to Italy for the PA-CT Phase II project on Island of Sicily and the Salerno high-speed railway project, providing strong support for the construction of a modern railway network in Italy.The Phase II PA-CT project on Island of Sicily, located in southwest Italy, serves as a link between Palermo and Catania. The project involves four sections, utilizing the eight “explosion-proof” earth Pressure balance TBMs developed by CREG for its construction. “Penglai” Track-laying Unit Completed A Track Laying Mileage of 200km

From completing the first section of the main line 23 days ahead of schedule, to entering the third phase of construction 45 days in advance, the East Coast Railway Link of Malaysia, a key project under “the belt and Road Initiative” has seen continuous acceleration thanks to the application of the CCPG500A intelligent multi-scene track-laying unit “Penglai” custom-made by China Railway Science and Industry Group Co., Ltd. under CRHIC. Up to now, over 200 kilometers of rails have been laid, with the overall progress exceeding one-third.The “Penglai” track-laying unit mainly consists of rail tractor, main engine, traction power car, sleeper rail transport train, sleeper gantry crane, hydraulic system and electrical system. Among them, the main engine as the largest component is 30.7 meters long, 3 meters wide, 5 meters high, and weighs 108 tons.

The world’s first green TBM successfully launched in Italy

On July 32, 2024, the world’s first green TBM “CREC 1237” was successfully launched at the Taormina Section of the High-speed Railway Tunnel Project on the Island of Sicily in Italy. The Project involves two sections, of which, “CREC 1237” TBM applied at the 4.9km-long Taormina Section has the largest burial depth of 200m, mainly crossing clay, sand and sand rock strata. In addition, the overall settlement control of the equipment is demanding given that the clay in strata crossed by the equipment have extremely poor permeability, combined with shallow buried sections.“CREC 1237” TBM is a new equipment developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) under CRHIC in response to the demand of the overseas market, taking into account relevant European standards. It is also the first TBM in the industry applying green concept. Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Officially Opens to Traffic

On June 30, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Project, which took 7 years to construct, had been officially completed and opened to traffic. Integrating “bridge, artificial island, tunnel and underwater interchange”, the 24.03km long Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is the world’s largest cross-sea cluster project. China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Baoji Bridge Group Co., Ltd. affiliated to CRHIC have undertaken the steel box girder manufacturing tasks for contract sections G05 and G04 of the Project, including Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge (formerly Lingdingyang Bridge), Zhongshan Bridge, non-navigable channel bridge in Hengmen Flood Diversion Zone, non-navigable channel bridge in the West Flood Diversion Zone, non-navigable channel bridge in shallow water area, Wanqingsha Interchange Ramp Bridge and ancillary facilities, with a total length of 7.24 kilometers and a total weight of steel structure of 183,000 tons.
