China's First Remanufactured TBM Exported to Europe Successfully Completed the Excavation Task

On September 11, 2025, by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) has successfully completed the excavation engineering of the Fortezza Railway Tunnel Project in Italy, by applying its remanufactured earth pressure balance TBM "China Railway R303", which is the first remanufactured TBM exported from China to Europe. The completion of this excavation marks the official successful application of CREG’s remanufactured machine in overseas high-end markets.After the transformation, the excavation diameter of the equipment reached 11.05 meters. In view of the difficulties of high rock strength in the stratum, the technical team optimized the cutter trace and strengthened the panel structure of the cutter head, which greatly improved the rock breaking ability of the original cutter head, realized the "cross-generation upgrade" of shield performance and significantly improved the tunneling efficiency.

Nansha Port Railway Hongqili Waterway Bridge Wins Theodore Cooper Medal

According to recent news on the official website of the International Bridge Conference (IBC), the Hongqili Waterway Bridge of the Nansha Port Railway has been honored with the Theodore Cooper Medal. The project was jointly built by China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group Co., Ltd. (CRSBG) and China Railway Jiujiang Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd.The bridge was constructed under challenging conditions, with high wind speeds at the site, the convergence of four rivers, dense vessel traffic with intersecting navigation routes, a 770-meter-wide waterway, and a “W”-shaped riverbed. To address these constraints, the project pioneered the use of a flexible steel truss arch bridge with twin 360-meter main spans—the largest of its kind in the world—delivering high-efficiency coordination between superior spanning capacity and load-bearing performance.
